We at TPC want you to know that during this time, with COVID-19 cases appearing in Hampton Roads, we are following all CDC and community guidelines to provide a sanitary, disinfected, and safe area in which our clients can continue to hold confidential meetings in our offices. In addition, some clinicians are holding individual, couple and family sessions by secure, private and confidential videoconference when requested by a client. Please check with your therapist to see if s/he offers this option. Most major insurance carriers are reimbursing for video sessions in exactly the same way they do for face to face therapy sessions.
When video therapy sessions are available, our office will facilitate by emailing you a link to connect with your therapist’s “virtual office.” If you wish to request video sessions, please make sure that you have enabled text messaging and have an accurate email address in your patient portal, or you may call and request that our front desk staff activate text messaging and add your accurate email address for you in your patient portal. Please note that if you choose to use your phone or iPad, you will be prompted to download the “Telehealth by simplepractice” app.
In compliance with the CDC and WHO guidelines as well as state and local recommendations, we ask that if you feel ill, or have a family member ill with flu or a respiratory illness, that you contact your therapist to meet by confidential videoconference and do not come to the office. Please leave your therapist a message in his or her confidential voicemail box to discuss options for your session; our office phone number is 757-622-9852.
For clients unable to meet by confidential videoconferencing and are able to provide appropriate advance notice for cancelation due to illness, at this time we will waive late cancellation fees. However, please be aware that it is a courtesy to your therapist to call in as far in advance as possible if you are ill, so that s/he can attend to other clients who may be waiting to be seen.
Our late cancel/missed appointment fee will NOT be waived for clients who do not show and do not provide appropriate notice by contacting their therapist.
We know that the Hampton Roads community will act mindfully and compassionately at this time to stem the spread of COVID-19 in as timely a way as we can. We encourage all our clients to stay informed, visit the CDC website for information, practice good health habits, and stay safe.
With all our best wishes,
The professionals and staff at TPC
